Sales Efficacy

Getting their message across

3sixty solution is an engineering and management consulting firm that focuses on the manufacturing sector of the food industry. The Wayzata-based company offers technical resources, consulting and organizational development to improve a company’s productivity and effective delivery of their goods and services.

As a company refining and establishing its brand, 3sixty solution needed help in developing its business-to-business process and marketing image. Rick Jacobson, president of 3sixty, wanted to establish a relationship with a trusted resource who could engage immediately in the company’s new and existing client development. He turned to Todd Anderson at 10,000 Foot View for help.

Todd immediately set to work on the company’s marketing materials, aligning them with the needs of the marketplace and simplifying 3sixty’s message. As engineers, the marketing message tends to get complicated, explained Rick, but Todd reworked it for the intended audience, and focused the company’s brand image.

He also began guiding them through a sales process to improve interactions with customers. It quickly became a company-wide program, rather than just a program for the business development staff. As Todd pointed out, all the employees and the four partners are engaged to some degree in business development for the company.

“Todd has offered the kind of guidance that has helped demystify our approach and made it easier for us to contact people and talk about what we do. It’s been effective in balancing our new clients versus existing client sales,” explained Rick.

3sixty solution is now on track with a sales and marketing strategy that has avoided the cyclical nature of small business sales and maintains a steady flow of new clients.

“10,000 Foot View offered us very practical solutions that we could put to immediate use,” said Rick. “They provided real value to us through new and different perspectives, which were so needed, especially when we got mired in trying to see the forest through the trees. They were our external eyes and ears.”
